Intro to Lead & Multi-pitch Climbing

This class is great for those already experienced climbers who want to push their climbing into bigger adventures.  This two-day class will cover the basics of leading and following both bolted and traditional climbing outdoors- (building anchors, placing good gear, when to use slings, how to use a nut tool, what and how to pack) on day one, and then, using those skills to actually climb a multipitch climb on day two.

Intro to Trad Climbing

Traditional climbing opens a whole new avenue of adventure.  The large rock faces and mountains that many of us dream of climbing are not protected purely by bolts.  This class will focus on placement of cams and nuts, cleaning traditional gear with a nut tool, building a traditional anchor, and will teach you the basics of how to climb without clipping bolts.  Because…Trad is Rad!

This two day class is for experienced, multi-pitch trad climbers to learn basic skills needed for grade V and grade VI big walls (technical rock climbs that take two or more days to complete).  We will cover the skills that you will need to clean-aid climb, haul and jumar.  This is the perfect class for someone who has climbed some multipitch climbs but lacks the confidence and/or know-how to sleep on a wall.
