Yoga & Climbing Retreat

US400 per person

This amazing weekend will combine the art of yoga with rock climbing-such perfectly matched activities for strength, balance, flexibility, and mindfulness. This 2 day/2 night weekend includes two morning yoga sessions, two days of guided climbing instruction, two nights of camping under the stars, all equipment, as well as 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and one dinner.

TRAVEL INFO:

  • Once you arrive in Lone Pine, you will turn onto Whitney Portal Rd at the only stoplight in town.
  • Continue on this Rd for about 3 miles until you come to Horseshoe Meadow Rd.
  • Take a left and drive about 1 mile to the turn off at Tuttle Creek Campground on your right.
  • There will be signs to direct you to our site.
If navigating with your phone, type in Tuttle Creek Campground.

TOWN AMMENITIES:

  • Lone Pine has a grocery store on Main St. You can get all the basics, but very few specialty items.
  • Several restaurants are available...including, my favorite, the taco truck! You can grab food from here and bring it up to the campground Fri. night if you don't want to cook. Located by the Mobile Gas Station on Main St.
  • Showers are available at the Whitney Portal Hostel on Main St. for $7 Big Willi’s Mountaineering and Elevation are the two climbing/hiking stores located off Main St. with a lot of great finds if you forget anything, or just want to do some shopping:)

CAMP LIFE:

  • We will have a group campsite with plenty of room for you to pitch a tent, or sleep in your car...
  • There is a Picnic table and fire ring there. I will be providing wood for a fire each night, and a few stoves/pots, aluminum foil, pans, etc., for anyone to use.
  • We will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, a sack lunch both days, dinner and appetizers on Saturday night. You are welcome to bring any of your own snacks that you can’t live without, or use our cooking gear to prepare something particular.
  • There are pit toilets and potable water at the campground.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Camping gear- sleeping bag, pad, tent *let me know if you do not have any of these items and they can be provided
  • Clothing- May can be very hot or cool, depending on the weather at the time. Bring clothing for either instance...sun protectant clothing for being in the sun and warm clothes and rain jacket just in case.
  • Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, beanie
  • Good walking shoes
  • Yoga Mat *we will have a few extras on hand
  • Water bottles or bladder (at least 2 or 3 liters)
  • Climbing Gear- Shoes, Helmet, Harness, Belay Device, Chalk Bag and any of the other gear you may own *We can provide any of these items if you do not own them at no charge😊 just let me know what you need and your street shoe size.
***IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE THINGS, WE CAN PROVIDE THEM, BUT LET ME KNOW BEFOREHAND!

ITINERARY


Fri May 17th:
  • 4:00 PM - onwards Meet at Tuttle Creek Campground campsite...there is no specific time, as many of you will be driving to Lone Pine this night.  You can also arrive on Saturday morning, just get in touch and we will work out the details.
  • Register/sign paperwork-This is a good time to get fitted for climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses and belay devices, should you need any of these items.
  • Set up your tent/sleeping area.
  • We will have a fire going once it gets dark and will use this time to get to know one another:)
Sat May 18th:
  • 7:30 AM Make lunches to bring with for our climbing day while breakfast is being prepared.
  • 8 AM Breakfast
  • 9 AM  Morning Yoga in the Alabama Hills
  • Split into groups and go out to the crags!  We will climb most the day/ have informational and skill seminars.
  • 4-5 PM Head back to the campground for dinner, relaxing and fire.

Sunday May 19th:
  • 7:30 AM Make lunches to bring with for our climbing day while breakfast is being prepared.
  • 8 AM Breakfast
  • 8:30 Pack up our tents, gear
  • 9:30 AM  Morning Yoga in the Alabama Hills
  • Split into groups and go out to the crags!  We will climb most the day/ have informational and skill seminars.
  • 4-5 PM Say our goodbyes.
