Introduction to Big-Walls

This two day class is for experienced, multi-pitch trad climbers to learn basic skills needed for grade V and grade VI big walls (technical rock climbs that take two or more days to complete). We will cover the skills that you will need to clean-aid climb, haul and jumar. This is the perfect class for someone who has climbed some multipitch climbs but lacks the confidence and/or know-how to sleep on a wall.

January 25th: Day 1
  • 9 AM Meet in Bishop to go over gear and carpool to the Owen's River Gorge
  • Learn about building good trad anchors and clean aiding
  • 4 PM Finish our day and carpool back
January 26th: Day 2
  • 9 AM Meet in Bishop to carpool
  • Learn about hauling and ascending a fixed rope
  • 4 PM Carpool back
